Thanks Lambo. As you know, racing in New England is pretty much dead. Suffolk, Rockingham, Green Mountain, Foxboro, Lincoln, Naragansett all DOA. Same appears to be happening around the country.

PA is a great site with a wealth of astute posters. I hope we are not becoming extinct.

you know something you really miss the characters that hung out in race tracks and race books in Nevada. even though i got a few people on here that will chop my head off at every opportunity i give them, its still better than no place to go. when it comes down to it, the people here are a bit more polite than the ones hanging around the gambling institution's. if you are real brave you can try your hand on politics here too!

I go to OTB in Lehigh Valley Pa. The middle room has 4 long tables maybe

10 seats per side. Within the last 2 months 2 of the stalwarts passed away

and they put a flower vase and a program in each's honor. 25 people max at

the place. Someone took the program. A guy 51 yrs old said to me ,'They're

not coming back. I'm 51 and I'm the youngest guy in this room'. Most of the

guys in the middle tables maybe bet 2 or 3 races and day and then they sit

and talk. A casino opened a few yrs ago 4 miles down the road and took alot

of the horseplayers with them. If they took horse betting there this place would

shut down in a heartbeat.
