Picks for Del Mar Sunday:
R1 #8 Avenueofknowledge-Got involved in a 3 way duel for the lead last time going longer. Pace situation looks more favorable today, should run better here.
R4 #6 Gent-Gets claimed by hot Spawr out of a race that has produced several next out winners. Ran well in only try in graded stakes up north. Frankel’s runner looks scary, but if I get 6/1 I’ll take a shot.
R5 #8 Aussie Girl-Gets a good pace scenario to set up her late run here. Barn does ok with the sprint/route move and she won a race on this oval last year.
R7 #1 Patriot’s Pass-Super impressive in his last two dirt wins. His closing kick will serve him well in his grass attempt. Short price only drawback.
R8 #3 Taste of Paradise-Defending champ took this one gate to wire last year. Looking for the same trip today with no true frontrunner besides him signed up. Looking for a bounce from Pleasantly Perfect, he’s bound to run a clunker sometime.
