I hate the connections personally......but if anybody might pull this off......:bang:

Been watching replays and I think this horse wants another furlong and I think he is ballsy running late. His sire was a beast and I have no idea where this one gets his stamina from but he seems to be running well late. Out of an un-raced mare. Calumet I like though

If Kent is on his game..... I think he has a chance...........and he's a friggin maiden????

He has a better chance than Thunder Snow.

I guess I'll put it that way.

Remember a NYRA-based horse by the name of Red White?

His trainer, Bob DeBonis, got so fed up with him not being able to break his maiden that he sent Red White to Charles Town, whose MSWs at the time had $3,000 purses (NYRA's MSW's were about $25,000). Suffice to say that for one day at least, West Virginia became more than just almost heaven to the bridge-jumpers - and it was Red White's only win in 32 career starts, with 11 other in-the-money finishes.

I'd like to see Keith Desormeaux do this with Sonneteer - just for the fun of it.

Just ran 3rd in the Louisiana Super Derby.....

I was standing next to the paddock fence when the horses were circling the ring today. Sonneteer was the last to enter. He immediately got everyone's attention. He's a fine looking horse. I think I mentioned this at the time here, but the horse's best performance came when he was ridden by Richard Eramia (2nd in the Rebel Stakes, paying $58.20!)). Eramia has a knack for getting the best out of closers. I was a little surprised Eramia stayed at Remington today.

Anyway, the race was marred by the breakdown of the :1: FAST TALKIN MAN; he was euthanized on the track. While at the paddock I was struck by how small and fragile he looked compared to the others. I hate this part of the game.

I also hate what's become of the once-proud Super Derby. From a $1 million dirt G1, then to a $400,000 G2 and then G3, to this year's ungraded $200k turf event. Very sad.
