I always love hearing the touching stories or amazing accomplishments regarding the horses who provide us with this wonderful sport.
With that said, I just thought I'd share a little story in the making .. 11-year-old Leaping Plum will be trying for his 8th consecutive Grasmick Handicap victory when he goes to the post Saturday in Fonner Park's eighth race.
Just the fact that this 11-year-old is not only still racing, but has made this race 8 straight years is an accomplishment .. never mind that he has won the past 7 runnings! And I guess you'd have to give his connections some of the credit too! :)
Here's hoping he reaches the wire first for the 8th straight time, and that his success continues in the years to come!
Whoever says this game needs superstar graded stakes winners is missing out on some of the beauty of this game.
