Anyone know a good resource for downloading (free) IT e-books? The site by that name seems to have stopped downloads completely. Anyone know a decent alternate (that won't require a system scour, antivirus, and malware uprooter after "signing in")?

All free. The Succinctly series, short, to-the-point, minimal fluff and padding. 100+ FREE ebooks on programming, related computer topics.

If you don't like PDF, download FoxIt. Then you can highlight the text, mark it up, add comments, all kinds of stuff that Adobe makes painful and awkward.

O'Reilly has some good free books from time to time.

I do admit that I've been a little disappointed recently. Mostly marketing stuff disguised as science, with a strong "by our service" theme.

Also, with O'Reilly, if you have ever purchased a physical book, they will GIVE you the PDF version for free.

Thanks! I forgot to mention O'Reilly because most of their stuff is on the other sites as well.
