Scott Petri isn't my rep since he's the state representative from the next town up from me. He's one of those Republicans that the far left conflicted freaks in New Hope, PA., and the Daughters of the Revolution granny-types of Solebury Township just love. Make your own conclusions what kind of Republican Petri is.... and you'll probably be right.

I never was for any casino gambling because I always felt they were competitors to the horse racing industry and interests. Still do. The quality of racing has systematically declined since the creation of Racinos, and I do not think that's a coincidence, imo. There are other reasons, too, but explain why the game has declined if purses have increased because of casino revenue?

Online gambling, regardless of how the tax burden of these enterprises are divvied up, will further hurt horse racing -- as well as the standalone casinos.

Petri's real interest in all this tells me he's actually looking to raise taxes without risking any of the bad political baggage of increasing taxes on the home owner or small business operator.

It wouldn't surprise me. The first long distance betting account I had was Philly Phone bet in the early 90's. They seem have a knack for getting out in front for the bucks.
