Another fusion great Saw him at My Fathers Place Roslyn NY AFTER the Steve Morse Band with guest Steve Howe eviscerated the place. AH had Jeff Berlin on bass MC duties and played out the night, must have been 3:30 in the a.m.

Thanks for posting. Knew and had good fortune to jam with this legend through the Softs, generally much better known to musicians (as the obit attests) than to the general public -- think this had as much to do with his unusual humility and lack of pretense as the music -- zero flamboyance or self-promotion. Seems like not a month goes by now that a friend or acquaintance from that period of my life passes on - Coryell a couple weeks back. Mortality - sobering.

Some decent links of A.H.'s on youtube:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=cFZEK-meZ-I

Tony Williams Lifetime w/ Jack Bruce., ca. 1975. Minutes 2-7

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UtiLc56BJ1I

A.H. live in Costa Mesa in his mid-50s - lousy video, but opening five minute solo shows he hadn't lost much.

That's cool, you must be quite a musician to get anywhere close to him.
