the :4:is very good value in my opinion...longest shot on the board at 7-1 and figures to get a nice stalking trip behind what could be a hotly contested lead.
3 for 3 when entered for a tag, wish she had a work since last, but the price is good enough to take a shot

The damage today was palpable...I am now back ever-so-slightly in the red after quite a while in the black...

Went 4 for 32 and only got back $26.20. Prices were nowhere to be found.

I am now going to go back and see how my top-pick-only overlay has performed...I'm betting it's been pretty good, although not enough plays to draw any real conclusions...we shall see

4th = 1 unitI haven't and to be quite honest, I haven't been keeping much of any stats other than what I've been posting here...I haven't been tracking in a DB or anything like that...I'm basically winging it in these threads.

I was hoping to prove that you can make money using NOTHING but numbers...no race watching...no bias tracking...no jockeys, no trainers, no owners, no breeders...nothing but cold hard numbers.

And while my effort has been admirable to date, it is still at break-even after 229 wagers. Now a couple of longshot winners today could change all that, and after all, that's what I'm after in these thread...longshot winners. But it's tough to rely on something like that long term...I was trying to see otherwise.

back in the old days when i was playing order horses once in a blue moon i might bet 4 horses to win in a 6 horse field.. but that money never made it to a pari-mutuel pool.

my opinion on playing multiple horses to win is this. since you are only paying the takeout and breakage on the winning horse, betting more than 1 should not be an issue if you have a good odds line.
