Only older NY-centric guys with a liberal bent will remember him. I literally "bumped into him" at Belmont one day - he was falling down hammered at the time.

I remember him, long time Daily News columnist with a street smart ethnic left wing bent. Remember the Piels commercial-"it's a good drinking beer", well not really but RIP
