I have moved over to Kaspersky Internet Security for my laptop. My other machines are using Norton or McAfee (mostly McAfee). Kaspersky is offering their software for machines such as tablets, but I am not sure anti-virus software is needed for machines other than laptops and desktops, particularly those with Microsoft OS. Do I need to consider phones, tablets and Mac devices for anti-virus?

Yes, probably.

And Kaspersky is a good choice. They have a 3-machine package that I renew every year for like $38. (It does go up a $1 or so.)

I think we have 4 of those packages.

Haven't used a paid virus checker for decades.

Microsofts FREE scanner is apparently plenty good enough.
