What Dinesh fails to point out is that although the French and American Revolutions are often characterized as liberal revolutions, that therefore today's conservatives are really arch classical liberals if they are true American patriots.....THAT these revolutions were in essense, conservative reactions by Cross and Crown to stem the power of a newly formed international Mercantilist class and their bourgeois counterparts, that through trade and industry were rapidly shaking off the yokes of royal and papal privilege, and political, economic, and religious monopoly.

Cross and Crown manipulated the poorer elements of this new economy, to be secret partners and accomplices, and characterized these machinations as popular revolts of the people, the sans-culottes, the liberation of the serfs, as in the case of Communism....

That's why there are such strong overtones of a religious nature to America Patriotism by in particular, a revolution of religious yeoman, manipulated by a Cross and Crown who had witnessed the effects their continuing decline of relevance, became alarmed and fought back, by coopting the frustration and energy for change into paths that they, and only they, would both steer and manage....
