Ah ok. I believe that was in Belmont right? I think it closed before I moved up to this way. Now the Lakes Region Casino is located there. I did however work for years at Wonderland Greyhound Park as did several members of my family.

I grew up in Revere where we had Wonderland Greyhound Park and Suffolk Downs so I guess you can say racing is in my blood. Lol

i had 100 shares of Revere Racing for about 25 years so that i never had to pay to get in the place. the stock never really went up but it paid a decent dividend until Charlie Zarchis bought the place so that he could let his father back in the track. he was barred from the joint for many years and got right back in when his son took over.

Yup, you are 100% correct. I actually didn't even know his father's name but I had heard Charlie's father was a bookmaker. I was actually talking to my mom this morning who had worked there since 1981 and I told her what you had said and sure enough she confirmed his name was Abe. Then she went on to say it was exactly like you said as soon as Charlie bought the place his dad was let right back in like you had mentioned.

Lol, it's a small world.

BTW here are some pictures of what Wonderland looks like now in it's current state. It's been essentially abandoned since it's door closed in August of 2010. It makes me sad to see it like that as I use to patrol it at night by myself as I was a member of the security staff there. :(
