Not on your life. Lincoln was for the Union; the Democrat Party was for succession.

The Democrat Party in 1860 was the party of racism, hate and simply un- and anti-American.

You have to appreciate the symmetry of Democrats blocking the schools where our new Secretary of Education tried to enter. The Democrats used to do it with Governors, now it is just the normal anti-free speech Democrat doing what they do best.

You're referring to the southern democrats now of the 1940s, 50s, and 60s. Some of them even splintered... IE the Dixiecrats.

American politics are not stationary. The Republicans of the mid 19th century were VERY progressive.

Such comparisons are akin to Secretariat vs. American Pharoah... largely pointless.
