Del Mar picks for Sunday:
R1 #1 Brite Betty-Makes a sensible drop into claimers. Had trouble in comebacker on the grass, now gets barn go-to guy Baze. Will probably send to the lead from this post.
R4 #8 Royal Footage-Goes to claim master Mitchell’s barn. May only have one other frontrunner to contend with early. Is certainly the speed of the speed if he wants it. Will run better for this barn. Ran a good 2nd for $40k here last year.
R6 #9 Gambler’s Mark-Had no chance to close last time when they were moving well late. Has given an honest effort everytime since trying turf. The pace looks to be hot in this heat so he should be a factor late.
R7 #4 Just Wonder-Has shown tremendous closing kick in his last few races. Lightly raced runner comes out of the very strong Charlie Whittingham Handicap, where several have returned to run well. Anywhere near double digit odds and I’ll be all over it.
