Starting at the back again.

R9
Oh baby do we need some scratches in this one. With all of the speed signed on
it could setup for MISTER BINGBANGBOO (bon). His trick will be to avoid being wide
and getting floated out coming off the turn. Word is that YOUARETHEMAN and
POWER TRIPPER are looking good in the AM. Don't be quick to toss the outside
horse, GAME DAY HERO. He might be in the catbird seat if he can get over
by the 3/8 pole. Where's that "ALL" button?

R8
Flores had his pick and took BAYAMO. The other Canani, SPECIAL RING, has
been working well and this distance is within his reach if he gets a lonely trip
up front; however, CAYOKE could spoil that scenario.
Bailey flies in to ride SWEET RETURN who needs to pick it up a notch to
tackle the top two. SARAFAN won this two years ago but he's looking a little
over the top.

R7
Mitchell got STONEBRIDGE LADY into the winner's circle first time out and she
draws a cozy post and an easy field for this. I like LUCKY SPIRIT going back to
the dirt and expect that she will show well here. EMBRASSE MOI is a lightly-raced
4YO that stretches out and her breeding OK's the distance. Her last was
BTL in spite of the win. Baffert's DESERT PEARLS figures to be overbet
as usual. She's run decently at Del Mar in the past and Baffert's barn is heating up.

R6
LEGAL LOGIC has picked it up in the morning since switching barns. (Is it true that
John Shirreffs is living in an igloo?) SHADOW RAIDER is a sharp turfer who gets a
sharp turf rider. RING OF FRIENDSHIP will probably be compromised by BLUSHING
CIEL (back in Avila's barn) on the front end. Is REMONTE's improvement the 12f distance or
has he just gotten better. If it's the latter, then you have to leave him in here.

R5
STARLEENA reportedly is slow from the gate. Wrong post and wrong distance for that
deficiency. CRAFTY VIXEN may have been intimidated by the inside draw in her debut.
She ran an even effort, but her works suggest that she has some lick and she fired
a 33 and change since racing. Tyler goes to
one of O'Neill's runners, but that may just be a politically-correct move and Flores isn't
a bad consolation. RULED BY
NUMBERS has worked well and draws Victor, while SISTER SHARK goes for a barn
that is about 25% with MSW debut types and Mikey rides.

R4
With SILVER DIABLO out, that eases the pressure on ROYAL FOOTAGE. Mitchell has been
tough off the claim this year. That leaves GREENBAYPACKER and DON FERNANDO as
the ones who could save some ground and have something to say in the lane.

R3
SLEWSTON figures to "go"; and, if DAUNTING doesn't, then the Mitchell charge will
be tough to run down. SAINT BUDDY's trip to Texas didn't work out but he's plenty
good enough to get this. Bailey's in town and taking over on EL ELOGIADO who came
to town with some reputation. Two questions: Will he improve? If so, how much?

R2
BEAU'S TOWN added the hood two races back and it tweaked his early speed. His problem
today will be speed drawn inside (ATTACK ALERT) and outside (HOMBRE RAPIDO) of him.
Not sure he's the same animal that won this event last year. HOMBRE has been working
well since racing. He's a need-to-lead type and if he's not clear into the lane then his
chances diminsh "rapido". Since POHAVE joined the O'Neill
barn his sprint stock has risen and he can sit back and let the gunners set it up for
a nice tracking trip. GREEN TEAM goes second time off the layup, Victor has done
well with him and he likes this track.

R1
BRITE BETTY hasn't shown the lick recently that she once had. With some speed drawn
right next door she could be in deep doo-doo quickly. I like to see the "Sarge" (Nick Hines)
come barrelling out of the box-seat section, flashing the "V" sign and talking trash
when his charges win. I'll go a few bob on ZEN DIVA and hope that the Sarge gets to
put on a show!

Let's go. Let's hit-em-a-lick!

Just announced (4:30pdt) that #2 YOUARETHEMAN is a late scratch in the night cap. I was using him as a "B" in my P4.

Switched that to the #8 EXCESSIVELY BOLD. Smitty rode this one in the April failure....he sees fit to ride back. Good works since raced, but Danny V. works them fast anyway.
