the homicide rate in Rio de Janeiro climbed 20% year to year along with the unemployment rate.

same thing might be happening in Chicago where people are going down like flies.

i happened to look at the job listings in Craigslist today and saw plenty of openings. however most of the jobs took specific skills to get hired.

if the massive infrastructure work takes place like Trump promises the job market will be very tight and pay very well. we still will need more goods being manufactured here and sold throughout the world along with some new industry to get this place rocking and rolling and take peoples minds away from doing bad things.

IMO...those who resort to committing homicides have concluded that "crime" is a more appealing income source than holding down a regular job.

If the wiseguys were smart...they'd know that the REAL money is in politics and religion.

Homicide and unemployment are related, not only out of desperation, but by their common friend - suicide.

Homicide is a non-issue when you consider 2x as many people die as the result of a drunk driver or suicide. And then there are the real killers- Cigarettes. 20x more people die from being fat in the US.

Speaking for the fat guys.......

We're a hell of a lot happier when we die than the homicide victim

Serious crime is always tied to the economy.
