A little historic perspective. Before Rush Limbaugh, the airwaves were dominated by left wingers. Limbaugh's popularity exploded with people saying, "finally somebody who thinks like me" and left wing audiences shrunk and right wing talk shows replaced them because that is what people wanted to hear.

Poor Phil Donohue. When he was king of the airwaves, there wasn't a conservative voice to compete with his liberal agenda. However, as soon as conservative views became avaiiable, nobody listened to Marlo's husband any more.

It was all about economics.
