Georgia was the first state in the traditional Bible Belt( Florida doesn't count) to actually start a state sponsored lottery.
Seeing dollars siphoned off, South Carolina got into the act in the early 2000's. North Carolina, seeing dollars flow over that state's borders with SC and GA, finally jumped on the lottery bandwagon.
NC has the only Indian Casino in the region. Harrah's Cherokee.
Needless to say, the place is packed all the time. Especially on weekends.
Sc has some Indian Bingo places. And that state allows casino boats to launch from its shore.
I believe there are gambling boats out of Savannah.
Tennessee once passed law permitting PM wagering. But the Bible Thumpers in Nashville have prevented any attempt to even think about a track.
I understand the Georgia legislature may be considering a PM bill.
With Virginia's PM racing shut down by the state's Horsemen's association, there is no PM wagering between Laurel park and the Jacksonville, FL area dog tracks. Please don't get me started on how incredibly stupid this is.

BTW..Why do you ask? Thinking of moving here? I'm in NC and must bet through out of the country books.
it SUCKS. I'd much rather have my wagering dollars going through the tracks so they get their proper percentage

were driving from niagara to gulfstream this year instead of flying and was looking for places to stop.....probably bite the bullet and go right to jacksonville.....i'll be stopping in charlotte on the way home to visit my grandson and watch his lacrosse game.

Do you have an ADW? I am not sure how many of them use geo-locating and restrict access if you already have an account.

we have to use hpi being canadian but the question was more about finding a place to stop where we could play than it was about having to play....great answers though, I didn't realize the bible belt effect would still be there in these times.
