I have a database with about 9,000 race results of information. I have races back to 2011. I can do all the filters I want to search the database. But, when is the information too old or does it not become too old? Thanks!!!

Never get rid of data! It's so cheap to store too.

IMO, data is only meaningful for the last 3 years, at least that's what I found to be my own truth....

I cannot see a good reason of getting rid historical data instead I can think of many way to use it. By the way you historical db of 9K races is very small by today's standards, after you reach 1M you might consider archiving a part of it if this is something that will speed-up some of your calculations (like track variant or speed figure estimates)..

My data goes back to the end of 2014 and I plan on accumulating it for as long as I can on at last some race types and tracks. I did a split and link recently because I maxed it out. So now it's 2 databases that are linked together.

I've got NYRA data back to 2000.

The thing you need to watch out for is a major change to something
Like at SA, the new grass surface.....I won't use the old grass data for much.
