A little more time today, so hopefully it will show in the results!
R1
RILEY'S LIFE has the best last race and Victor stays up.
Watch out for SOME BOLD THRILL. This one had worked
well at SA and that PLN race with Warren's kin up might
not be kosher. If it was the usual 95+ degree weather for
that race, this Del Mar sea breeze may have this one clicking
his heels! LOST JEWELS adds the hood and has
a sharp speed drill since raced.
R2
SPRING FESTIVAL with the nice development line and
that super work since raced will be bet hard and will probably
run well. I'll hook him up with TIALINGA (Gary Stute is
getting pretty savvy with his claims) and POPPY SEED with
the nice forward moving line and good works the past
month.
R3
Not much to like here and when I tell you that this race is a split
of the 8th, you won't be looking forward to that one! But, something
has to win. The M/L Fav NOSSENKO is deserving of that honor
and I look to two improvers: MYSTERIOUS PEACE who goes
for a non-descript trainer (but he tries); and, B R LADY who has
signalled some better things to come in the morning and Abrams
has a way with these fillies when he finds their hole card.
R4
Spawr drops FRENCH REBEL and goes "all in". He should be
able to track JINK WILLIAMS early and run away from all of them
late. SUPERVELOUS comes back to the dirt and has a sharp
6f work since raced and drops to an easier spot.
R5
I was looking forward to the P4 until I saw this race. Uh Uh!
Not with my money.
R6
Talk about some rehab projects. I'll take the "now" horses
and leave the guessing game up to others. KOMAX and RETIRED
HABIT are good fits at the level; and, the distance suits and
they figure to run their races.
R7
We had a wire job on the turf yesterday when the speed got the
lollypop trip and the main contenders got tough trips. MAGNIFICENT
VAL shows nothing but 1's and 2's since joining the Mullin's barn
and figures to get her way early unless JOYFUL BALLAD tries to
pester her. ETERNAL MELODY seems confused when the gate
opens and then runs like hell when it's too late. Maybe the
blinkers will help. Maybe they won't. Not going to take a short
price on that proposition. I like the 3YO,
CROZET, as the legitimate improving type who will probably
get first run at VAL.
R8
The dreaded split of Race-3! I can make a case for four (4) of
these. GLOW OF LOVE, LAKERETTE, FUZZY CHAI and SMOKIN'
VIGOR. FYI....after GLOW OF LOVE's debut race last year, she was
6/5 in a subsequent race at DMR but was a vet scratch during the
warmup. Also, FUZZY CHAI was working nicely before her debut
race, so I'm inclined to toss that one and I like Solis climbing on
for Caesar.
You know what I know!!
