To all: Does anybody know the particulars regarding someone that made a huge bet of around 17,000 dollars on Native Dancer to win the Derby. The guy supposedly had a stroke a few days afterwards. Was a story about the above ever written? I heard that he sold his house and bet the proceeds on the Dancer who by the way paid 3.20 to place and would have only paid 3.40 to win had he beaten Dark Star on that Dark day in 1953.

Hey man you start your derby prep for 2017? Nyquist was another horse that fit your formula last year.

Dabster, a million dollar yearling, won his first out but was DQ'd for taking several horses wide thru the stretch run. If he can be taught to run straight, he might be a factor on the Derby trail. I like AP Indy in the BMS position and Pretty Polly in tail=female.

Classic Empire the 2 year old BC Juvenile winner is another that is bred well for going long. He also has Buckpasser in the X passing position.

Irish War Cry is another with solid breeding who has the Raise A Native sire line and Buckpasser in the X.

Mastery has the Raise A Native sire line and Buckpasser in the X.

Gunnevera has a road to Buckpasser in the X.

Of course many new names will probably be added in the next two months as many Derby prep races will be run thru January and February.
