The last of the 'seven'. Heroes all.

God's speed, John Glenn.

I had great respect for him as a astronaut, not so much as a politician. Believe he ran for president a time or two.
Rest in Peace.

Flew a space shuttle at age 77.

I'm 63 and can barely get in my car. :)

RIP to a great American.

While there is a lot of admire about John Glen, he was truly an incredible man. One interesting (to me) tidbit I recently read about John and his wife Annie, is that as infants, both John’s and Annie’s parents knew each other and often played cards together – while John and Annie played together in the child’s pen. They were later married for 73 years. Reminded me of my Grandparents who were married for 75 years. My grandfather was also a WWII vet. Must have been something in the water. Semper Fi, John Glen.

The real story behind that is a doozy. It was a payback for something he did in Congress. Other Astronauts were very upset.......

He was a force in Ohio politics for years.

I'm more impressed with his early records in aircraft like the F-4

There were some concerns about his age and training. It wasn't a big deal.

I won't say a damn thing bad about John Glenn. In the astronaut corp he bumped somebody else. They take that very seriously. Some astronauts have complained in public, look around. They give more details

RIP to a great American.

Had the left hand turn signal on the whole trip!
Kept turning off all the Shuttle lights at night!

RIP, a true hero.
Wouldn't it be nice if could lower the lunar flag to half mast?

I remember those agonizing minutes of no radio contact when he splashed down with a questionable heat shield.

The space race was much more interesting and outright scary at times back then.

He pioneered mankind's landmark change in existence.
