Can someone please explain the results of race 2 at aqueduct today. I had the #1 horse to place and he finished behind the two entries 2 & 2B. I've only been playing for 40 years and I thought when there is a entry the place money would go to the 3rd place horse. :bang:

Not if the entry is 1st & 2nd, the #1 only gets moved up to 2nd for exacta purposes

Think i need a break! So the #1 is considered second in the exacta. Maybe that is why i'm confused. Don't usually play to place.

Sometimes if the entry runs 1-2, they'll pay more to place then to win,but not in this case

It's always been that way.

Entry 1/2 gets the entire place pool, consider it a bonus.

Verticals , counts only once, no other way to do it.
