Folks should know that, although spot plays have to be verified in a mechanical manner, I personally use the key concept embedded in the spot play as a means of identifying interesting horses that might go off at high odds. I personally do not use spot plays in a mechanical manner but rather in the context of a more comprehensive approach to handicapping. I like to see at least one independent factor (independent of the spot play) that also identifies a horse as a potential play.
Today (Tuesday, 7/20/2004) the number 8 horse in the 9th race at Delaware meets the qualifying conditions in the longshot system that I descibe in the thread, "Re-envisioning continued - a longshot angle." The independent factors are the bid/hung move the horse made in its last race plus the distance switch (the horse almost won in a previous switch in its pp's).
I got four bucks to win on this horse.
