I'm guessing the likelihood of a fly ball being high enough to make contact with the roof in the first place is pretty slim.

But if you take the chance of that happening - and multiply it by the likelihood of a hit ball finding (and disappearing into) a seam in the roof - it's probably off the charts.

That said, my initial thought upon seeing the video - had more to do with the ball thrown by the pitcher than the ball hit by the batter:

To me, the pitch didn't appear to have much in the way of velocity, movement, or location.

I thought it looked closer to the stuff I've seen thrown during batting practice - than the stuff I've seen thrown during games.

I suppose if (as a batter) you're swinging at a real "hanger" - the chances of hitting a fly ball high enough to make contact with the roof in the first place - that has to go up.
