Does an Exacta Payout include the price of the bet, in the way that a straight Win wager does? Example: If a $1 Exacta bet on Horse number 3 and Horse number 6 pays $5, does the $5 payout represent a $4 profit??? Thanks.

You are EXACTLY correct ! If you bet a straight $5 exacta on 3 6, using your example above, you would get back $25.

Bet 5, collect 25, profit of 20.

Sometimes, the payout amount is based on a $2 bet. Depends on the track. If that were the case, in your example, a $1 bet would only return $2.50.
