People and horses have been impacting my life the past few days. This one very much so. For a number of years, Ellen and I have been friends on Facebook. We've written privately to one another about the heartbreak of seeing my dad and her husband ravaged by Alzheimers. Both now taken by this disease.

Just a bit, last night, after writing of her husband's death, I responded to Ellen on her page. I believe in the words I shared with her, and I'm so sorry that we've lost such a fine man--an outstanding breeder and owner of fine racehorses. Matter of fact, one of the greatest to ever look through a bridle.
Gentlemen, please, say a prayer for the Morrison family.
... "This man, Dolphus Morrison, will be deeply loved, missed, and remembered, Ellen. By you, your children, your grandchildren, your family and your friends. Along with this love and all he has achieved in his lifetime, he'll be remembered by the thoroughbred industry, its employees, its owners, and its fans as a man who loved breeding and raising fine racehorses. He'll be revered as the breeder/owner of the most celebrated, the most incredible filly to ever step on a North American racecourse--RACHEL ALEXANDRA!! https://www.facebook.com/images/emoji.php/v5/f6c/1/16/2764.png
Alzheimers is brutal, unrelenting, as we know. I pray that in my lifetime, both, my family and yours, will see a cure for this most horrific disease that we've shared. Love and prayers to you. May God's everlasting love and grace be with you all. https://www.facebook.com/images/emoji.php/v5/f6c/1/16/2764.png
In Dolph's memory .... "ROLL TIDE!"
