This system was developed with the Brisnet class ratings (CRs) in mind.

For non-maiden races, for 3 year olds & up, both dirt and turf at all distances are playable (no jumps or hurdles)

1) All horses in today's race must have at least 3 races in their past performances

2) For each horse in today's race, find the class rating (CR) of the most recent race where the horse ran at today's exact distance (and I do mean EXACT DISTANCE) AND on today's exact surface type (dirt or turf). Ignore horses who show no previous race at today's exact distance and on today's exact turf type. The horse with the highest class rating (no ties) is the potential horse if the following rules are met.

3) The potential horse's most recent race at today's exact distance and surface type is at least the fourth race back in the horse's past performances.

4) The potential horse's class rating (CR) in its most recent race at today's exact distance and surface type is higher than any of the non-qualifying horses' CRs in their last 3 races (no ties).

5) The potential horse's trainer is the same trainer for all its past races shown in its past performances and is the same trainer for today's race.

That's it.
