I suppose this is in reference to the big upset of Ohio State. For some reason I always liked Penn State and Joe Paterno definitely hope this is a step to get the Nittany Lions back into the upper tier of college football. They looked dead in the water down 7-21, great comeback.

PENN STATE!
It's been way too long. In all fairness, Bill O'brien did a great job following in the shadow of Paterno with a decimated scholarship roster and half our alumni against him.

Big win for Penn State, and it looks as if Alabama is head and shoulders above everyone...again.

Worse coached game in Urban Meyer's career

Was a chance they could have snuck into the playoff with a loss to Michigan, but that ship has sailed.

Agree. Michigan is a better team. The gloss is going to come off Meyer in Columbus. Their problem is consistent play. A sign of youth.

Man, you are tough. His record at Ohio State is a pristine 56-5. Sometimes great performance can result in even higher expectations. He was 65-15 at Florida before that with 5 of those losses coming in his last season, 2010. His lifetime coaching record is 160-27. If they do really think he no longer shines enough at Ohio State, there will be 100+ other programs ready to snatch him up. Don't sleep on them just yet. They could still beat Michigan.

With all the players that got drafted off last year's team, the Buckies surprised me by starting off so well this season and, I think, setting a bar for themselves that might be artificially high. I think now that they are still a really good team; they were backups to future pros at every position group, but they have still been in big games and have experience. They're not done yet. There are still too many undefeateds out there that can't keep going on that way.

If he beats Michigan. Columbus is a tough place to coach, and if you aren't beating Michigan, nothing else matters.

You could win every other game for five years and lose 4 to the team up north and get fired in a minute

It's probably the same way in Michigan. Still, they have been getting it done versus Michigan for the past few years or so and last year was a blowout. Meyer has a good thing going in Columbus, but I was thrilled to see them lose last week. That opens the door for Washington to be in the playoffs if they can run the table, which they should be able to do.

Huskies and the tide... Would be a great game!

At least it would be a different team in the mix. Chris Peterson is a great coach and has really got Washington playing well. It has been a long time for the Huskies.

No it wouldn't...it would be a God forsaken slaughter as Bama would D them up and wear them down.

Disagree. Saw the huskies defense, very tough and disciplined. Love to see that matchup

Lot of strong contenders this year
Bama
tOSU
Michigan
Clemson
Louisville
Washington

There won't be any Oklahomas in the final four this year....team that luck in without beating a quality team at full strength.

I would put Clemson at the bottom of that list.

Mike McQueary wins $7.3mil in defamation suit against Penn State. If he'd went straight to police instead of JoePa, they would have been afraid to fire him. That still bothers me, he didn't report it to authorities since he was afraid of the very thing that eventually happened anyway. Kids be damned on Penn State's watch.
