Hi
I was asked this question by a member of VDC Messenger

"I have the new Speculator Program
It runs in a window on my desk top thats too small. If I
switch to full screen its to big. Can I make the window screen
Bigger but not as big as full screen?

I tried to help him. I told Him to go to the desk top Icon and
right mouse click on the icon. Click on properities
then click on the screen tab the switch to Window from
Full screen .
Then I told him to start the program and right mouse click on the
C promnt logo and click on Properities then click on the
Layout tab. There is a window size agustment slider that he can adjust
He did all this but when he went out of the program and back in the screens were the same as before but then the screen went back to the original size again

Can Anyone help us ?
The person I am helping said Guy W. had no answer either
I posted this on PaceAdvantage.com and I was wondering if somebody could ask for me on Sartin Alums Since I am not allowed

Thank you
good Skill

Hi Binder

Rather than the Screen tab, go to the Font tab and try fiddling with different font sizes.

Or ...

When running the program in the DOS box, right click on the window header (the blue bar on the top of the window) and select Properties and then the Font tab.

These will work under W2K and XP, your OS may be different.

On a small screen using DOS with XP, access your program then
press "ALT-ENTER" at the same time. This will full screen you in
DOS. Then, before you Exit the DOS program, make it small again by "ALT-ENTER" again.

My friend says he can make the Dos program Speculator full screeen
by doing the steps mentioned

He prefers not to run full screen ?
He must have a hugh monitor and he says full screen is overpowering

He says when he toggles to a window size screen its too small
He needs something in between

I hope I can help him
he is a member of my Sartin Group so I
have to be patient. I 'm not really sure if he understands my
answers

Thanks

What about using the window "maximize" / "minimize" button if there is one?

I don't see anything like that
I only see Full Screen or Window
And the adjustments in the Font and screen tabs

I do a bit of tech support: have him send me the program, plus what OS, screen resolution, & screen size he's running at--if he trusts doing that-- i'll run it on a system approximating his and figure something out. I have several ideas(both MS & third party), which we likely would not finish trying(or have a guarantee they'd even been actually tried correctly) before the year was up, in the present manner..<g>

Hi charleslanger

Thank you for the offer .

I can't send you a copy

I will have them read this thread and then they can do what they want to do
Its probably nothing.
but I better let them decide
Thanks

Right click on the desktop and select new shortcut.

Follow the wizard and create the shortcut.

Select the properties of the shortcut and adjust the font size.

Thank You everyone
I got my friend and the Speculator software maker
to read the post here rather then try to relay
the messeages.
I also got a great bit of help from the moderator
of Sartin Alums
A yahoo e mail group that is the home of Speculator
The windows size is fixed
thanks again
