Ramblings rather than selections . . .
Race 1 - Paceless race with more questions than answers - #3 WIRED WARRIOR has trouble getting to the races but shows sparks of potential. #2 FALSELY ALARMED has three wins in Cleveland and is most the likely to last this distance. #1 ACE RICH has actually run the fastest of these despite his dismal record especially at six furlongs; Houghton should have him involved early.
Race 2 - #1 TROPICAL DEPUTY was squeezed back last time; probably the fastest of the bunch. #7 SUN MAGIC finished with a flourish after getting away slowly in Thistledown debut; expect him to improve today.
Race 3 - #1 FLOWER DEAN should be tough to catch from the rail; troubled trip 02Sep. #2 ONCE MORE FOR LOVE does her best work on dirt; plenty fast if fit. #5 ROWLANDS BIG SMILE is the one to beat.
Race 4 - #1 AWESOME PRIZES returns to two turns for a hot barn. #3 MAGNA ACCOUNT has been tough when running with claimers here. Team Loooch import #2 EL ALMINANTE takes a steep class drop; needs to prove his worth on grass.
Race 5 - #7 NEW YORK GEM bested several of these coming off the bench 05Sep. The return to dirt might wake up #3 SEMILLON. #4 SHADES OF LIGHT has lost the least; perhaps built some stamina on the Beltarra green.
Race 6 - #6 STAR MABEE battled through trouble last time before catching the chalk. #4 OHIO GOLD stretched out willing 21Sep; completes chalky exacta.
Race 7 - #7 MO DONT NO who is as tough as they come locally will get no breather today; probably "speed of the speed." #2 TEPU WAR exits $5k claiming company for a new barn off a quick six furlong win; has a shot if not engaged with the early speed.
Race 8 -#7 DESERT DARLIN has never been worse than second while serving time in n2L jail; seems like her turn to graduate. Pace setter #8 CALL ME CLEVER does her best running at today's distance.
