The new Miss World competitor from Japan is 1/2 Japanese & 1/2 Indian & is also a part time elephant trainer. Something I find amusing is that some Japanese are pissed that she is not "racial pure". Even our most bigoted would probably be embarrassed to express their feelings so bluntly.

She's good looking but she looks a little more Philippine than Japanese. I don't have any problem with it, but she is maybe 1/10th of a shade darker than the Japaneses or Chinese ideal. Both countries have huge markets in skin lightening products.
Ironically when many Asian women move the the USA, they fall in love with tanning beds. Crazy :bang:

Really? In other countries people are racial bigots? I thought it was exclusively a WHITE AMERICAN character defect. It couldn't be other continents besides Asia--no way.

This is actually the second year in a row that Miss Japan is bi-racial.Last year's winner's father was a black American who was stationed in Japan when in the Navy.
