LDW Vegas Racebook Review

Got back into town after spending three nights in Vegas for the weekend.

I stayed at Caesars but have never bothered playing there. The pools are fantastic, and I think the spa facilities there compared to other places are the clear number 1. If anyone is interested, Qua Spa.

Went down to the sportsbook their and spoke with the supervisor about getting anything for my play. Told me I get nothing, couple drink tickets haha. Left with a free form and went to Bellagio.

Ive played here a couple times before, and do like it for the most part. The nice thing about this place is that it is big, and they do treat you well. You can expect 3.5 to 4% back on your play. I had no problem getting a free buffet and a room there. Buffet is amazing, stuffed myself with king crab legs. Since you are an "invited guest" with the comp you skip the line. Drink tickets for wagering that can be used at the bar for bottled beer and well drinks. Nothing on tap though. My one dislike is with the entire room they put the racing on the far left side. You can get a seat with a small tv, but the more comfortable seating is to the far right where I like to sit, so it was a pain in the ass to see the racing.

Visited the wynn and its great as well. Racing shown on all the boards. The only thing I didnt like was having to wait for a waitress when there is a bar there. Drink tickets cant be used there, and quite frankly I like being able to get a drink when I want one.

At the advice of a horse player I checked out NYNY's book. Small and same thing having to wait for a waitress, but they came around regularly. Compared to the bigger places, when you bet on horses they really take care of you. I was literally offered F&B at any place on the house, so I went to Gallaghers and ran up a $200 bill myself and it was taken care of no questions asked. The smaller places will bend over backwards for you, the ambiance of the place is lacking though.

Cant wait to go back. Debating a trip to Keeneland for opening weekend in a month instead of going back. You can only sit in a racebook for so many days, plus ive never been to Keeneland before.

I went to NYNY twice in the last year and a half and enjoyed it immensely. Was not crowded and could watch sports at the same time (I like to multi task). All forms free, the manager told me I would get 2% back. I don't know how much you are betting, one time I churned about $800-900 in a day, got a comp for two at the Irish restaurant, the next time I bet less and got a comp for one to the Chinese Restaurants buffet. idk, Gallaghers would have been nice, should have tried. I didn't really keep track of what I bet.

Caesar's was great years ago but I went last Thanksgiving weekend and it wasn't what it usedta was. Smoking all over and sports fans were crowding out the race seats. Its smaller than it was in the 90s.

Love Bellagio, mainly came later in the day and bet sports so I hung out towards the right end of the book. I need to go back soon.

Kenneland is a first class operation. The place is beautiful, clean and the staff polite and helpful....Did I mention the place is clean? You woud struggle to find so much as a piece of paper on the ground.. The racing is good. Fields bettable.
You'll kick yourself if you don't make the trip....
Oh, on the weekends, especially if the weather is nice. the level of "talent" rivals Saratoga.
I have not been there in a few years. I plan on going back soon....Oh, while you're in the area, take a short trip up to Old Friends. There you will be able to see many retired equine stars of the recent past.

I Stopped playing in Las Vegas years ago. I go to Vegas twice a year but not for Horses. Last time I was there for horses was thanksgiving weekend 2012 at the Luxor.[Got free rooms from my brother] Was treated very poorly, Ticket writers were bored and would just throw your ticket at you after your bet,Asking for a drink ticket was like pulling teeth was not a good weekend. Stopped in at the Aquarius in Laughlin last years breeders cup while my brother and his friends were there, absolute joke there. This past trip in August was staying at The M resort 3pm on a Sunday Last at Saratoga still plenty from Del Mar it was like a Ghost town.Vegas no fun anymore even on the Sports side as long as your playing Slots they love you anything you Play does not seem to matter to them.Ive heard there are a couple of exceptions Wynn and Southpoint maybe Orleans too.For the 2017 BC Were planning a trip to the Southpoint.

Go to Keeneland. Book your room now (UK has game vs. Vandy that weekend). You have to go if you've never been. I may be there that weekend too- 50/50 at this point.

go to keeneland...seriously. I'll be there sat and sun..i like staying in Georgetown but have stayed all.over the place over the years

Most sports books let you sign up for players card that tracks wagers and you accumulate points which you can turn into rooms, food, etc. I don't know if Caesars has a players card but most other places do.
