R2 Saratoga

As tough a maiden race as you'll find. 11 go to the gate in a 9F turf battle amongst some expensive horse flesh. :8: Sport is logical off a horrid trip last out, but I'll look to beat. I'll also go against the Brown/Castellano in the :11:.

:7: Kitten's Gold is obviously sired by Kitten's Joy with Dynaformer on the bottom. FTS is a tough play against a number of these, but is making a good impression to me and gets the best turf rider in the states in the irons. :3: Patterson Cross first race isn't nearly as bad as the form looks. Off the layoff and Mott has brought him up from GS. Has been training nicely coming into this race and is getting bet. :10: Ballagh Rocks is the other Mott entry who has been close in his last 2 tries.

I just haven't been comfortable with this race at all. :2: makes sense as he switches back to the Baffert barn. :3: is making his 1st start as a 3YO and is a very talented colt. :4: is who I thought would be favored, and is currently the 4th/5th choice in an 8 horse field. :6: is the one I really want to make a case for as expectations for this one have always been high. Has switched to sprinting. Is that the trick? :8: is Brown/Irad Ortiz and is getting hammered. Every horse in this field has shown something that they can win this race. Need 7/1 to 8/1 on the :6: or I'm passing.

I thought this race was impossible. Pace scenario is tough to figure and nobody seems to tower over the field on any level to the point that not being able to project the way it will run isn't all that important. Played a pick three and used almost all of them. Probably get busted by Jacobson going wire to wire or something.

Ha. Not that hard after all I guess. Take the Brown/Ortiz that is getting hammered at the windows. :D

Impressive win over a field that looked good on paper, but a number that didn't even show up. :2::3::4: make up the back end of the field. :6: really had no excuses as he had the right trip. Just not enough horse. :8: dominated.

The interesting bomb in here is the :11: Wedding Dress. Albertrani gets DeCarlo back in the saddle. She doesn't have a race to date that says she can win this thing, but she is a 3YO and they have expected quite a bit out of her.

Key race as it is the 1st of 6 straight G1s and the start of what is likely to be a monster payout for the P6. GL to those firing that ticket. Too tough and rich for my blood.

Anyway, this division has maybe been my favorite over the past 2 racing seasons as these 5 4YO fillies will be locking heads once again while they have traded blows against one another the past 2 years. Tough race to play vertically, and outside of a W play, a tough race to play at all. Horizontally, you are likely hitting the ALL button, or singling this race to get to others.

I'm just gonna sit back, enjoy, and watch this one play out.

Had originally used Cavorting and Chatterbox in leg one but then didn't want to spend more than a few dollars so decided I need to settle on one or the other. Decided on Cavorting. Then just kept talking myself out of it with the distance, the break, etc, etc until I finally switched to Chatterbox. :bang: :bang:

:9: Carina Mia is the only 3YO in the field and is currently the 4/5 favorite.:eek: Sorry, but I just can't see it.

Biggest problem in this sprint is the complete lack of pace. Not many in here want to be on or near the lead, including one of my favorites in :8: Wavell Avenue who has treated me so well. I still feel we'll get some pace though due to size of the field, and that there are enough in here that will need to be on or near the lead to have a legit shot to win.

This race has crazy written all over it.

I absolutely hate both the likely favorites in :13: Drefong and :6: Mohaymen. The :13: is going to have to work too hard to get to the front, and :6: is flat out overrated IMO.

:3: Summer Revolution is the one to beat for me. 2 7F races, romps in both and a 1:21 flat in his last out. Like him with the one right next to him in :2: Fish Trappe Road. I'll look to hook those 2 up with :8::10::12:.

After 3 straight front running 7F winners on the dirt, I'm looking for the public to be getting "on the speed favoring" track that is Saratoga today. Never mind the fact that Cavorting closed in the only 2 turn race ran over 7Fs today on the dirt.

:13: Laoban is up against it IMO, as he absolutely is a need the lead type and then he has :14: Gun Runner right next to him that has to be in the early mix if he has a chance. We then have the :10: Connect, the horrible 4/1 ML 2nd choice also needing to be a part of the early pace with the :2: American Freedom on the rail to give them all they want for a rush to the first turn.

Speed has ruled at 1 turn and 7F today, I'm going dead against that "bias".

:3: My Man Sam could be sitting on a monster. Chad Brown gives me confidence,and Manuel Franco can pop at a price. :4: Governor Malibu is the "bad trip" horse, and I get that. However, I can't exclude. :7: Exaggerator gets his chance to prove his "mud only" doubters wrong. :12: Creator will likely get the best setup he has seen since the Arkansas Derby.

I'll go with those 4, looking to beat the fav that I like and then throw in :1: Arrogate and :8: Destin for exotics.
