Just a thought: (1) a starting race without a speeding truck that leaves behind to many: a non-moving start is best. then we may see a race.
Or, how about a track change where it's only two turns with a long start and finish..no more one lane on the first trip and two side by side most of the second trip....let make the long track and have "inside passing" in the front and back stretch...god, would that be exciting rather than sitting there until they come off the final turn before the race begins.
What's your thoughts? If any...

1) You ever seen a harness horse try to start from a dead stop? Wouldn't be advantageous to anyone.. If you can't keep up with the starting car, you shouldn't win anyway.

2) Colonial Downs has only one turn.. For a fan, it stinks, since you really only see the horses when they hit the 3/4 pole.. By then, most of the racing is over..

3) You sound like you are watching a lot of 1/2 mile racing (Or Woodbine)..

If you want to see 'action' before the 1/2 mile pole, watch Balmoral Park and Meadowlands..
