Miss Matzoball, the MASIE Stable 4 year old filly, is nominated for the Caress this coming Sunday in Saratoga.
The week between the nomination and the entries is pretty interesting. You get information from the backstretch and other horse owners about the likely horses in the races.
Today, this was published about the field:
"Probable for the Caress are Forest Funds, Harp N Halo, Miss Ella, Miss Matzoball, Richies Sweetheart and Unbridled Courage. Disco Barbie, Everything Lovely, Joya Real, Monster Sleeping and Rumble Doll are possible."
You line up your jockey - (probably Javier C) - and look towards the Stakes Race.
Miss Matzoball is ripe, ready and filled with energy to run.
Our trainer is working closely with her every day - ramping up to the race on Sunday.
The entries will be published in 2 days - and we can then move forward.
It is always exciting and nerve stimulating to have a horse race, even better race in Saratoga, and amazing to run in her first Saratoga Stakes race.
Yesterday, we had 3 cool visitors to her barn. Three of the leading ballerinas from the New York City Ballet - including star Tiler Peck, came to say hi to fellow runner and athlete, Miss Matzoball - and then spend time better (and yes, winning at the track).
