All in the span of about 10mins, according to the BloodHorse article on the homepage of this site.
Very interesting is the first comment by Barry Irwin claiming there's been a problem around the 1/4 pole at DelMar for decades. He surmises a sinkhole.
Two of the three injuries took place around the 1/4 - 1/8 pole.

I don't follow Cali racing at all and was never aware of a potential issue at that spot on the track.

There was just another horse who suffered a fatal injury. This is very sad to see -- I know injuries are part of the game, but this seems out of control almost. :(

Brittany on TVG was all choked up announcing the sad news.

Beholder was supposed to work today but Mandella scratched that plan after seeing the breakdowns.

Chrome vs Dortmund tonight.
Would you scratch?

I would.
And head East.

I would have headed East in the first place, regardless of what condition Del Mar is in.

Scary thought......that's a ton of good horse and future cash being risked

This is tragic... If Chrome or Dortmund were mine, they'd never leave their barns this evening. They could fine me, sue me, whatever. I wouldn't care. JMO.

Why would anyone head east, just as dangerous, if not more so.
3 horses dead at Saratoga since training opened in May and 2 of those were in the past week.

23 dead this year at Belmont
6 dead this year at Big A.

Very sad statistic. Don't know the solution to prevent these tragic accidents.

Not sure of the names. The one that was euthanized was a 2 year old for Jeff Mullins barn that F. Prat was working. I think one other was a Kristin Mulhall horse that had a soft tissue injury. The other horse was vanned off.
