Vulnerable favourites:
Race 1 :9: Hurry Hurry Up (5-1) 0 for 36 on the turf in Hong Kong, and ridden by a 3% jock.

Race 2 :1: Bear Rapper (5-2) 3% trainer and only lifetime win was on the dirt.

Race 4 :5: Apache Spirit (3-1) Still a Hong Kong maiden after 17 tries.


There are no horses coming out of key races on the card.


Horses off my watch list:

Race 4 :10: Massive Power (9-1) Passing the 300M lay in of its own accord towards heels. After that approaching the 250M was severely checked away from heels - Race 649.

Race 5 :12: Happy Cooperation (9-1) In the early stages was unable to cross into the lead despite being ridden along, then throughout the race was obliged to race four wide and without cover. On the first turn after the 900M was bumped and became unbalanced and consequently weakened in the Straight - Race 626.

Race 8 :8: Happy Spirit (6-1) Began very awkwardly and then despite being vigorously ridden along in the early stages failed to muster speed and consequently raced back in the fields - Race 655.

It looks to me that the only horses that show any ability to pass other horses are the :2: :6: (2 back :7: (3 and 4 back) :8: and :10:

The :2: has the fastest last 400m times and maybe an excuse for the last out stinker.

Race 1 Class 5 1650 Metres

Never get too much into these class 5 races, really inconsistent horses. Putting a few dollars just for entertainment purposes on the :6: Casa Master (7-1), never too keen playing horses off the vet's list but he looked ok in the paddock and Purton taking the mount should help.

No Chiong and Prebble tonight, both serving suspensions.

Would put the :6: Casa Master on my watch list, after spotting the field three lengths then making a nice move on the turn to the wire going 4 wide on the turn only to be beaten by the lone speed winner, but it's just too hard to trust this class od horses.

Race 2 Class 4 1200 Metres

Going to try and beat the favourite again, :1: Bear Rapper (5-2) switching back to the turf and is trained a 3% trainer. No thanks.
Not much pace in here and may be my downfall in this race, taking a flyer on the :4: Socket King (14-1) will be racing at the back and hopefully will come running late, last was a throw out while going very wide in his last.

Race 3 Class 4 1200 Metres

Going with the chalk in here, :5: Never Better (2-1) chased a lone speed winner on May 11th only to be beaten by a neck, gets the rail draw and hopefully gets the same trip the winner got in the previous race.
:2: Massive Milleninium (7-1) had all kinds of trouble in race 633, a total throw out race. But, trained by Ferraris (surely couldn't win 2 races in a row).

Really looking forward to the meets of June 12th and 16th, Moreira will serving a suspension then. Should be very fun wagering those two days.

Will surely play against that winner next time out, got a perfect trip on the rail but had to get to the bottom to get by Flying Monkey who never switched leads in the lane. Winner will probably go up to a rating of around 55, so that will add another 5lbs. on his back for his next race.

Race 4 Class 4 1650 Metres

Another favourite I am going to try and beat in here, :5: Apache Spirit (3-1) is winless at Hong Kong after 17 tries, ran a very disappointing 8th as the chalk in his last. Afraid with the Brazilian getting on.
:6: Kitaya (10-1) Got a big figure on this one after his wide trip in his last and getting the rail will surely help, doesn't like to win at 1 for 29 but will go with him with those odds.
:10: Massive Power (9-1) Is on my watch list after his race on May 18, was blocked with lots of trouble, while not being asked late in the race, has a bad habit of not getting to his proper lead in the stretch though.

Race 5 Class 3 1200 Metres

:2: Big Bang Bong (4-1) was bet seriously in his debut but ran a real poor effort, Size runners do improve in their second outs but after that effort going to try and defeat him here.
:1: Hit the Bid (8-1) I normally don't play horses switching from the dirt to the turf but his figures are heads above everybody in here, chased a quitter on May the 14th was right there but just wasn't fast enough to get to the front.
:12: Happy Cooperation (9-1) is a horse to follow from race 626, In the early stages was unable to cross into the lead despite being ridden along, then throughout the race was obliged to race four wide and without cover. Race 6 Class 4 1800 Metres

:2: Entrusting (11-1) Was wide in his last race which cost him the race, was on the watch list in his last after his race on April 6th- was vey slow out of the gate and ran against a very strong speed favouring bias that night. Concern that his running style will hurt him with the way the track is so far playing, but happy to gamble at that price.
:1: Royal Partner (9-1) was also wide in his race, made a nice move late only to be beaten by a favourite who got a perfect trip. May have found his true class.

:1: Forever Red (9-1) not all that keen about Moreira getting off for a Size runner and the draw where the rail is set, but his figures are much better than the rest of the field. Just missed out by a neck as the favourite after sitting off the duel, hopefully will be little closer today.
