Sadly after winning the 1st at Pimlico on Preakness day today, his 14th win in 63 starts, he collapsed and died after exiting the winner's circle. True warrior.

David Grening ‏@DRFGrening Tragically, Homeboykris collapsed after leaving winner's circle on way back to barn after winner's circle and died.

I have kept up with him since his Derby run in '08. Hated to see him go down today.

I guess PETA has us back in their sights...they must have been lobbying all these news sites the minute the first horse died...

Tough day. Seeing Homeboykris took me back to my Derby Bachelor party and even though I didn't play him I had a soft spot for him and was glad that he won. Then unfortunately The 8 in race four was a brutal injury that occurred right in front of me from my infield view. I knew she would have to be put down... Emotional roller coaster. Still kinda pissed she wasn't scratched after breaking through the gate. I love this game but the lows can be so horrible.

Sorry for my drunken rambling but peace for those lost souls....

Even in a sport with its share of cruel twists, to have another Jackson horse break through the gate, then be reloaded and run and fatally break down on the 10th anniversary of Barbaro's breakdown is pretty rough.

Wow. I knew the horse broke down, but didn't know she'd broken through the gate. Awful. It haunts me when a horse acts abnormally like that then breaks down, because you can't be sure they weren't trying to tell you all wasn't right in the only way they can.

They just reported PETA is demanding the vet records of these 2.

You could easily attain them given 99.9% of them are dogs.
