Looks like Phil Michelson gave back almost a $1M to stay out of prison in this case.

The three-time Masters Champion made almost $1 million from the 2012 trading, according to a complaint Thursday by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The SEC termed him a “relief defendant.” That means Mickelson wasn’t accused of wrongdoing, but was named in the complaint to recover his profits.

Until the Supreme Court clarifies insider trading law, the public will be left to ponder why some skate free and others don't.

I guess Martha Stewart could have stayed out of prison if she'd been a card-carrrying member of the LPGA....

With the CEO of Dean Foods on one end of the transaction and Phil the friend on the other end of the transaction, the Feds have Walters in a real squeeze play. I don't think he escapes this one, as it appears they are both singing loud and clear on this one.
