I measure a riders proficiency and technique on how flat they ride measured by the low angle of their backs and how closely they blend into the horses neck while gunning for the finish line. The lower they ride the better, less drag, with their weight center of distribution slightly forward. I've noticed several of the top riders with this style...also smaller riders are better at it than taller, larger riders....

Agree with your assessment in terms of form, but I measure a rider's efficiency by how he uses form to aid the horse's performance rather than relying heavily on a live whip arm.

How they act like a team, totally in tune with one another, like they are one animal..I've seen rides that tight...the rider blending with the charger...
