Normally, the UK 3yo classic Guineas races run on the same weekend as KY Derby.
Not this year. Yesterday, Frankie Dettori rode the 10-1 shot, Galileo Gold,
to victory for trainer Hugo Palmer. Aidan O'Brien's odds-on favorite,
Air Force Blue, did not run well and failed to hit the board.
Today was a much better day for O'Brien.
He saddled the trifecta home in the 1,000 Guineas for fillies,
and favorite Minding was very impressive in winning.

Will be interesting to see Timeform's rating for her today.
Inside the quarter pole, she showed an impressive burst
to shoot at least 4 lengths clear. She may have idled a bit
while in front, but the race was over by the final furlong of the mile.
Having been on, or very close to, the lead on the straight course,
her kick to win the race was a spectacle. We'll see how the form turns out.
Was hoping to post a clip of the race,
but I can't find it on youtube yet.
