Would an off track change your mind or would you stick with your horses?

Do you think your selections can perform well on any ground?

Would you bet at all? Or less money? Or different in any way?

Even when the track is fast, how much do you involve these facts in your analysis: Florida Derby run on a good track, SA Derby on a sloppy track, Wood Memorial on a muddy track?

Usually I don't bet wet dirt but for the Derby I make an exception. For me it's important that my selections show some ability for these conditions though.

Depends on how wet.Wet fast ,good - not sure. Sloppy ,Muddy- changes a lot Depending on how the earlier races run.

I dont see how an off track wouldn't make Exaggerator the post time favorite, and influence a lot of people's bets.

Luckily, as of now, the extended forecast is calling for sunny days on May 5th, 6th & 7th at Churchill. The only derby I was sure of in the slop was Smarty Jones in 2004.

I care about the conditions. Anyone that does not adjust is foolish. That's why many don't like it or won't bet it. They refuse to be flexible. Many times I look at those conditions as an:
"opportunity"......... ;) :ThmbUp:

Sunday Silence won in the slop in 1989, and although he was the better horse, Easy Goer was definitely harmed by the track conditions (he also lost the BC Juvenile to Is It True in the Churchill slop).

Not an ounce of rain forecasted here for Oaks or Derby. We're going to get a fair test for these fields. May the best man & woman win :)
