What is blended takeout?

I tried searching for it and didn't find an explanation.

It's just an average of the takeout rates for all of the different pools at the track. At Canterbury this year the win-place-show takeout is 15% and the takeout in all exotic (trifecta, exacta, superfecta, daily double, pick 3/4/5/whatever) is 18%. The blended takeout is 16.5%.

Thanks for clarifying that.

I thought that it meant something like, Fried Chicken Wings and House Special Fried Rice.

truly blended would take into account amount bet into each pool blended by the amount of total handle...

When doing the takeout score on the track ratings Charlie and Mike have made it like that - true blended. Pool size, weighted.

The new sheets and all the track ratings will be out this week for 2016, btw.

People have asked for exec interviews for the issue, so we did some of those - NYRA, betfair, Jockey Club etc.
