I noticed in the final odds in pool 4 that Lani was listed at 25-1 but the $2 price was $89. Obviously there was a mistake somewhere. Anybody know what his final odds were when pool 4 closed?

He should be 125-1.

I wish, I would put $20 on him. At 25-1, no way can I play him that low

just using rough estimates, I'd guess last years world cup track was at a minimum a few 1/5ths slower than this years and at a maximum a second or 6/5ths slower. With lani running .06 seconds slower than Mubtahiij and a final 3/16ths that was .65 slower. This years UAE derby is coming back extremely weak.

The stumble at start easily cost Lani half a second or more. That aside, I too was not impressed with the stretch run. This is perhaps the best bred Dubai winner to head for the Derby so I cannot completely dismiss.

I made 2 side bets with friends that he wouldn't finish in the top half of the field, so I'll be eating crow and losing money if he does.

I dont know what he should go off at because not much to go on. But I think 25/1 will be higher than what he will go off at. I got a feeling there will be a ton of yens wagered on him.

He's probably a hopeless long shot but I would like to see him win. I was ready to see Mohaymen win the Florida Derby impressively and watch him roll in Kentucky. Don't see that happening now. Sunday Silence is my all time favorite racehorse so it would be cool to see Lani shock 'em in Kentucky.
