Been looking all over the NET but cannot find the final standings. Anyone have info on the outcome of the 2016 Horseplayer World Series of Handicapping at the Orleans Hotel in Vegas. Much thanks.

I've yet to see a full listing. They put a single hard copy on the table to look at. I guess I should have taken a picture of each and every page. On HTR they have pictures of the top 70 or so finishers.
One thing I've noticed about the world of handicapping contests is that in general they don't excel at the conveyance of information

No they definitely do not do well at getting the info out. The really sad thing is that the Orleans has a page dedicated to the HPWS. You would think that it could have been added there.

Yes, they do a poor job of posting up to date info once the contest has started. In fact, it's like non-existent which is sad.

Here are the top 15 standings.

Dan Kaplan, 3189, $389k
John Connelly 3151, $199k
John Connelly 3140, $55.9k

Ronald Williams
Geoff Schutt
Mike Wondka
Stephen McNatton
Wayne Misko
Robert Buck

Someone in another thread said the same players are always at the tops of the leaderboards in these tournaments.

I don't follow these closely--but most of those names don't look all that familiar.

Dan Kaplan is a very recognizable name in handicapping tourneys, at least to me.

If you don't follow something closely. It's not likely anything about that will be familiar. :bang:

It's been about eight years since I played in the HPWS at The Orleans. I prefer the Orleans to the hotel for the NTRA/DRF contest.

Would like to know if they still have a business center where I can print unlimited pps and if the buffet breakfast is still very good.

Thanks.

don't know about the business center but they give you free Bris and DRF pp's.
The breakfast buffet was comp'ed and I'd give it two thumbs up.

Rich Nilsen, if it's the same guy, worked for Brisnet for years, and makes regular appearances at the top of the standings in tournaments.

The business center rate for players was a "discounted" $0.30 a page (listed at $1.25 on their price board), so not cheap at all. Buffet was superb, and free all 3 days.

thanks for that, I had given up looking for it.
The prize money is very top weighted.
I finished 43rd on day three, 88th overall.

Yep, Rich used to Fed-Ex me BRIS PP's back in the late 90's and early 2000's to Orleans Tourneys. I haven't been there in awhile. I guess the BRIS stuff is available there now? Rich's forte, BTW was finding nice priced maidens using breeding stats. He is always in the hunt in tourneys.
