Appalled Republicans may rail against Donald Trump’s arrogant ignorance. But how different, really, are the party’s mainstream leaders? Their blinkered view of the world has the veneer of respectability, may go along with an appearance of thoughtfulness, but in reality it’s just as impervious to evidence – maybe even more so, because it has the power of groupthink behind it.

If anyone knows something about that topic, it's Krugman. He has been beating the drum for Keynesian economics and stimulus spending for decades, impervious to all evidence that it doesn't work. But it has the power of groupthink of the Democratic elite and pointy-headed progressive academics behind it, so lets have another round of spending.

Krugman is the George Costanza of economics. Whatever he says, do the opposite.

http://www.irishtimes.com/business/economy/krugman-forget-trump-mainstream-republicans-have-learned-nothing-1.2581703I've been saying there is little difference between Trump and any of those who have run before for ages...glad someone else agrees with me, even if it's Krugman.

That's why I can't fathom this whole "well, he's not qualified" crap.

Yeah, he's more brash and outspoken, but he's as qualified as any of the others.

The only reason he's getting the backlash he's getting is because deep down, a lot of people think he can actually beat Hillary, and they can have none of that. Plus he's an easier target than some who have come before.

But make no mistake...he's not all that different...and he's more than qualified.

Ironically, I think Krugman is probably right about tax cuts because of the specific circumstances that exist today (not in general), but his solutions would be even worse. The real culprit is the obligations that will require us to grow government spending faster than the economy can grow.

Trump is very different than the others. His reasoning for being President the first and biggest difference.
