Belmont Picks for Saturday:
R1 - #2 Souvenier Lake-Barn and sire has good FTS ratings. Mud breeding is decent too. Will key her in the DD.
R2 - #4 Miss Crafty Pal-Two best races come on the off going. Makes big drop, a dangerous move for this barn. 3/1 or better for me here.
R4 - #8 Joyful Chaos-Really love this one. Bred for turf/distance. Barn does great with dirt/turf move. Gets Prado, barn’s go-to guy and an excellent turf jock. Bailey/Mott will probably be way overbet, meaning probable decent odds on this one (7/2 or better).
R5 - #6 Boscabelle-Has good offtrack breeding. Trainer does well with 2nd out runners also. Expecting a better effort today.
R6 - #11 Seeking the Money-Barn/jock have outstanding win% together. Horse has run his best races on off tracks. Barn decent with laid up runners too. 4/1 and I’ll take him.
R7 - #4 Gaelic Issue-Lightly raced runner picks good spot for comeback. Romped in only start in mud. 4/1 or better for me here
R8 - #5 Sircharlesschnabel-Only try on yielding turf here last year was a good one. His last effort can be excused because of trouble. Gets Velazquez for today’s try.
R9 - #3 Island Sand-Off going and a possible bounce by Ashado points me in her direction. Probably won’t bet this one because of the low expected price.
R10 - #11 Friendly Island-Could be any kind. Off track shouldn’t hinder him. 3/1 or better and I’ll take him. Probably won’t get it though.
