Definitely a toss up from race to race, but there's a better chance of catching some kind of Diodoro Cal import class dropper or some such steamer in a lifetime conditioned race than in one of these where you have to have run here but can't have hit the board.

Welp the dead man seems to have trouble either not getting stood on his head or not winding up 200 wide with this one, but the little trouble on the turn didn't cost him enough momentum that it cost him a win or anything. I think the chase for me has ended... So bet him next time. :D

The f/m sprint version of the ole 1-2-3 has two in the field that are the perfect fit for the condition - #9 Charlotte R has exactly one race at TuP after shipping from GG, DMR, SA, et al, and finished fourth while setting the pace. Perfect race to get eligible. #11 Coconut Cream Pie has run twice at the meet after getting the summer/fall off and has been facing world's better chasing the likes of My Name Is Mud, who has won a handful at the meet in the open f/m category while moving barns via claim box damn near every time. Third back and she drops into this spot and based on her past excellent TuP form should be the favorite, slightly lower than aforementioned Charlotte R.

So what gives? Why look at a race like this where it looks like 11-9 all day long at 7-5 and 9-5 respectively?

Well, because :1: Summer Surprise is 12-1 right now at 8MTP.

If she goes a whole lot lower than 8-1, then it's a pass for me on the win end, but I don't see any way to not take a shot if she's hovering near double digits. Two races off the bench, both of which she probably needed, and she rallied to be a semi-decent fourth in each. Those were not great fields and she wasn't exactly a threat at any time, but considering the track she was running over in those races and the fact that I sincerely believe she wasn't quit fit for either, she ran deceptively well in my book. I think that the pace is going to be legit. The two favorites both want to be on the pace or close to it and there are a few others (ie: She Can Roar, Shiny Sky) that figure to return with more speed today than in their most recent debacles.

Now 11-1 at 5 MTP... been longwinded here in part to buy time to see if this is worth posting or if she's going to get played hard in the waning minutes. Looking like its going to be a square price, so worth a bet to me and probably a little exacta action with the two legit favorites, either of which has a right to peel off and save the condition if the pace going gets too tough.
