:1: Rosebuds Tiger-Petro trainee drops back in distance
:2: Romans Middy-tries turf, triple bug gets on
:3: Wishihada-been against tougher
:4: Red High Tops-another first time turfer
:5: Cattindog-showed speed on dirt, tries first time turf
:6: Blazing Diamond-drops a bit
:7: Chessen-wesley ward trainee, broke mdn for 50 two back
:9: Playa Zaragoza-ran for 12,500 in last, never turfed
:10: Cowtown Jane-broke mdn at 5F turf, last 2 on dirt off board
:11: Capriasca-tries turf, turns back from 7F
:12: Eila-Just claimed by Ness
:13: Leilas Way-nothing in return to GP at 5F turf in last-trainer 1 for 45

So the Crushers-maybe some breeding on first time turfers, or trainer faves?
The passers-too many unknowns?
On the fence-but nice price a possibility

for me some super form of :1: :3: :4: :6: :7:

Tough race. I don't see anyone that I could realistically consider having a vastly superior chance over anyone else in the race. Probably the kind of race that if I'm flipping through the form I start thinking about whether I can feel good about the preceding races and piece together a pick something or other bet that leaves as deep as I can justify in this one.

But...

I'd probably take a shot on :5: Catinndog (assuming the 12-1 M/L is in range of PT odds) if this were a contest race or something where I needed to get behind one horse and live and die with it.

Claimed out of her debut for $15k. Then claimed again next time for $25k. Wasn't claimed in her most recent and only other start in a brief three race career. Seems to me that there's something to her that compelled guys to take a run at her in each of her first two starts.

Plainly, I think she's probably faster than she might look on paper and I don't see the sort of five furlong speed in this field you usually expect in these turf dashes. I don't think you have to love or hate turf to do well or poorly on the turf in these races that run like dirt sprints anyway, so that really doesn't concern me. I just think with a pretty cheap bunch like this, you probably either have to be legitimately better or legitimately faster. I think she may be at least one of those and an outside chance that she is both of those things.

According to a spot play I've employed, with very good success lately...the

:12: horse EILA is looking like a standout . Pace-wise, using last race

figs.. she's very nearly top-early AND top-late...a profitable combination

She shows top connections and recency--that outside post is the only question

mark. I'll put down $10W on :12: in the 10th race.

THAT'S the horse I was looking for and didn't see that kind of rocket start coming... in fact, mine didn't seem to break at all... Well done!

Great pick norcal, I should have stopped looking when I saw Ness claimed then 2 bullet works, by the way horse was claimed again for 25k

Well thank you slim, but I've just recently come out of a long dry spell, and seemed to have righted the ship once again.

Thanks for the kind words
